weekly n

This week we changed up a lot of things first off the actors we wanted did not have the same time and last resort i have to take on the role of the actor therefore i'm the cameraman and the actor. We followed the storyboard and filmed the scenes up to where the girl leaves the house and next time we meet we are to finish filming, only the street scenes remain which will require us about 10 minutes of our time therefore it isn't too much to ask.

We've discussed when we all are available next but some of us didn't seem to comprehend with the times we've agreed upon therefore we're a little behind but the next time hopefully by next week we'll finish everything.

Unit 22 pitch evaluation

Evaluating our pitch

Changes that needed to be made: Change the target audience women age range from previously 20-60 to 17-24 to narrow our audiences to impact them specifically.

Our pitch idea was successful as complimented by our classmates, comparing to the other ideas amongst the pupils our idea of domestic relationships is original and has a deep and easy moral to it which could help others being effected or act as a prevention.

Strengths: Our pitch idea was simple and easy but effective, the idea of domestic relationships allows us to be versatile in which during the filming phase we could leave room for adjustments in term of narratives and storyline for example adding extra scenes of conflict to enhance the idea of being something that happens in a real life day to day basis if it wasn't already intense enough. But that's if we actually need to redo scenes, because our idea is simple filming would also be a piece of cake therefore allowing us to focus more on enhancing our camera shots/angles to show our understanding and also for the viewers pleasure.

Another strength of our idea is the locations we plan to film at, the street we will be filming at will be easy to acquire permission and it is close by to where we all live therefore it is convenient if we need to add extra scenes in. However the remaining place we need to acquire access to is the house of the couples, we are still deciding on where this should be located or whose house we should use.

In terms of budget we are pretty much sorted already as it is, we do not require any unobtainable props, only a pair of scissors as the weapon and a pair of actors who will be willing to help.

Weaknesses of our pitch idea as my own self-evaluation would be the acting involved but it wouldn't effect our ability to film using different techniques but it may reduce the believability of our story therefore having a less of impact on the audience.

Weaknesses based on feedback revolves around the targeted audience and who our film would impact directly, result of this we have decided to change to audience range from 20-60 to 17-24 because we've come to a conclusion that amongst those ages people are more likely to begin committing to a serious relationship therefore things like domestic relationships are more likely to occur.

Our group did pretty well hence the fact that Alberta should of contributed more during the presentation and that us as a whole could improve on answering our classmates questions more fluently and in depth.

We've got through all our slides and explained it well enough however the slide regarding social groups could of been improved upon as it was unclear to who we were aiming at in terms of ethnicity but we agreed on sticking it to white females despite domestic relationship happens to all females regardless of race but white females in particular is more centered upon and publicised.

Funding

Film funding is crucial to filmmakers as without it the quality side of film cannot be achieved or the film itself cannot be created as it requires sponsors or funds to be able to fully create the story, to produce a film the necessities include hiring staff, equipment and costumes, sets and locations and transport.

Pre-sales

Pre-sales agreements are  executed contracts made with distributors before the film is produced. These agreements are based on the strength of the project's marketability and sales potential in its given territory. A distributor will generate a value for your project given the script, the attached talent, and crew, as well as the marketing approach.

Crowdfunding

Crowdfunding is a popular way of funding films because it allows fans to donate money in order to reached the desired goal to see the project in action. Popular crowdfunding sources include Kickstarter, IndieGoGo. In addition to donations, if a person donates a certain amount of money the get special rewards or offers specific to Kickstarter therefore the'll be more inclined or persuaded to.

Agencies

An example of a organisation that provides film funding is BFI, the BFI provides funds to filmmakers awarded from the national lottery foundation, if a production team think they have what it takes then they can directly contact and get in touch with BFI.

Of course there isn't just BFI, if your film production is within the UK then there are many other choices you can choice from, and then again being accepted for a grant is another issue, here are some of the agencies below.

-BBC Films
-Film 4
-Film London
-Creative England Fund

Exhibition

Exhibition

Marvel age of Ultron was available to watch across most cinemas in the UK including Imax 3D. It is available to watch on Blue-ray and DVD and only on Sky Movies for online streaming services at the moment.

Platform such as DVDs and Blu-rays allows every household to own the movie therefore it gives the audiences a chance to watch it again if they really enjoyed the film. It also benefits the producers because it gives them another chance to advertise the film for example as TV adverts on ITV, and for those who've missed to chance to watch it in the cinemas are able to watch it.

Sky Movies is a ideal 'platform' for this film because the majority of Movies on sky movies are entertainment and action etc therefore the film will be more suited for sky movie audiences.

Peckhamplex shows most of the latest films and costs £4.99 for an all day ticket. 3D tickets are £5.99.

How we consume film has changed, nowadays it is more of a passive activity, during the viewing process most of us are isolated. However this could be because of the accessiblity of films compared to when film first started, when film first started film used to be a special event, (not that it isn't know), but it was strongly considered an art form amongst theatre shows, but nowadays anyone who has an reliable device can be able to download or stream a film and watch it portibably, this means the interaction side of things has majorly changed in terms of a inevitable 'must' to now a choice.
